Autumn 2024 is filled with new experiences as I step into my role as a Peer Health Educator.

One is pictured below, with the Face Your Fears exhibit hosted in Odegaard library!

Students came and drew pictures of their fears and we hung them in our interactive wall exhibit. Tabling can be hard when people don't engage, but I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and curious people were. We had more than a few insightful conversations as people shared their fears with us. We found that almost all the fears we heard about were very relatable, like stage fright or getting bad grades. One person put "seeing him at the gym" which I thought was funny.

In this picture is (from left to right) my coworkers Cristian, Sebastian, Molly, and Meheq!

Painting pumpkins: A necessary fall task. Featuring my coworker Keira's famous puns.

Most of the work we do with LiveWell is not photographed since we spend most of our working hours leading workshops on different health and wellness topics. However, the experience is just as valuable. I am sensing a shift in my public speaking skills. I am becoming more comfortable speaking in front of other people, though it is still a mental hurdle each time.

One thing I am looking forward to is getting to start hosting Peer Wellness Coaching sessions in Winter quarter! I'm excited to see if this is a passion for me. Stay tuned for updates as that rolls around.
